Residential cleaning: your home’s entire air system

A home rarely has one appliance that touches the air; it often has four: the furnace and its ducts, the air exchanger, the dryer, and more and more a wall-mounted heat pump. Each builds up its own dirt, and each sends it back into the same rooms. Rather than treating one symptom at a time, we look at the whole system and tell you what really needs it — and what can wait.

In short

Residential cleaning at Nettoyage Service Plus covers a home’s entire air system: the duct network and furnace plenum, the air exchanger (HRV or ERV), the dryer vent and any wall-mounted heat pumps. These appliances are connected: cleaning the ducts while leaving a fouled exchanger reintroduces dust the very next day. Grouping them into one visit also avoids paying for several trips.

When should you call?

  • You just bought and nothing shows when the system was last cleaned.
  • Dust comes back quickly despite cleaning and new filters.
  • Windows stream with condensation in winter even though the house has an air exchanger.
  • The dryer needs two cycles to dry one load.
  • A smell comes out of the vents or the heat pump at start-up.
  • Someone in the family has allergies or asthma.

What's included

  • System overview before the visit
  • Cleaning of the ducts and furnace plenum
  • Air exchanger (HRV / ERV) cleaning
  • Dryer vent clearing
  • Wall-mounted heat pump washing, as needed
  • A single trip for everything
Typical duration
About 2 to 3 hours for the ducts of a single-family home, plus about 1 to 1.5 hours per wall unit.
Recommended frequency
Each appliance has its own rhythm: NADCA recommends inspecting ducts every two years, exchanger and heat-pump manufacturers recommend yearly maintenance, and a dryer vent should be checked every year. Grouping the work lets you follow those rhythms without multiplying visits.

How we work

System overview

On the phone or on site we go through it: heating type, number of outlets, air exchanger or not, dryer-vent length, wall units. You know in advance what will be done.

Ducts and furnace

The network is put under negative pressure with the 4,000 CFM collector, every supply and return gets 200 PSI compressed air, trunks are brushed and the network is sanitized.

Air exchanger and dryer

The exchanger’s recovery core, filters, fans and drain are cleaned; the dryer vent is brushed along its full length to the outside hood.

Wall units and final check

If there is a wall-mounted heat pump, it is opened and washed. Everything is restarted and checked before we leave.

Frequently asked questions

Can everything be done in the same visit?

Yes, that is the point. Ducts, air exchanger, dryer vent and wall units are done in the same appointment; total time depends on the number of outlets and units, and we give it to you on the phone.

What do you clean in a condo without ducts?

Many condos have no forced-air network: air goes through an air exchanger and a wall-mounted heat pump. In that case we clean those two appliances, the dryer vent and the exchanger outlets.

Where should I start on a tight budget?

With whatever carries a safety or health stake: a blocked dryer vent is a fire risk, and a fouled exchanger in an airtight house is felt immediately. We will tell you frankly what can wait.
